I must say that I prefer the 2nd version though. Notes 3-5 in the original version just doesn't sound right to me. Maybe it's just my experience with the song, but having 4 notes in the 2nd bunch of notes is accurate to me. 3 isn't enough.

This seems to be the most active listings for Amazing Grace so I thought I would post what I did.

I started with the idea that I wanted to play it twice, but wanted them different. I choose Ionian C and started on note 1 and ended on note 6 followed by 18 19 21. At that point I started on note 6 and played it again.

An 1/8 note is followed by the next note, a quarter note is followed by '18', a half note by '19'

Also note that there are four triplets in the second 'verse' -

Notes 7 9 7, twice, and 13 11 9, twice. There is no way to indicate this in the tabulature.
